People are at high risk for diabetes when they eat a diet loaded
with meat, French fries, high-fat dairy products, and refined
carbohydrates such as bakery products, pastas, desserts and other
sugar-added foods. People are at low risk for diabetes when they
eat lots of vegetables, fruits, fish and whole grains. Not everyone

and exercise regularly. See report #D222.
