Paranoia about fats is driven by junk science
This articles explains what omega-3 and omega-6 fats are and why the
ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 in our diet is important. Americans on
average eat far too many omega-6 fatty acids and too litte omega-3s.
The author recommends reducing the amount of omega-6 oils. The
article states that the only popular vegetable oil (including olive
oil with a favourable ration of omega-6 to omega-3 is canola oil.
Contradictorily, the article also states that olive oil does not
"play into the omega-6 vs. omega-3 ratio". That contradiction needs
to be resolved. Another point not answered is how much omega-3 and
omega-6 is optimum in ones diet.
