Summary of "The Variable Energy Output of the Sun Appears to Be the Major Determinant of Decadal- to Millennial-Scale Global Climate Change"
The earth's climate has alternated between periods of cold and periods of higher than average temperature. The work of Bond et al indicate that a 1500 year cycle of cold and warm periods has been in affect for at least the last 12000 years. Evidence suggests that those cycles are induced by changes in the sun occurring over the same time scale.
