The H1N1 swine flu outbreak of 2009. Speculations about commercial pig farms being the source of the virus. Large numbers of pigs are crowded together enabling the easy passage of the virus from one pig to another. Mutations of the virus can occur within a pig's body. Mutations could result in increased virulence and increased ability to spread among humans.
