"The Sustainable Vegetable Garden"
Advocates loosening soil to a depth of two feet and adding compost as fertilizer instead of commercially produced chemical fertilizers. The author says placing plants close together in nutrient rich, deep soil produces more food per unit of work than does wider spaced planting. Describes raised beds with paths between the beds so the soil used for growing is not compacted by foot traffic.
Has a table listing suggested square footage of garden to give for each of about 15 crops so that a year's supply can be produced for one person.
